Hello LYC and Happy Tuesday!
The first (and probably now, annual) LYC Art Show & Sale on Sunday was a resounding success. Thanks go out to Marina McGee and Luci Lavis for the idea to highlight some of the LYC artists and to raise money for a worthy cause, in this case, the American Cancer Society. Artists in attendance were Deborah Ann Chrystal, Carolyn Koup, Rebecca Mott, Patty Otto, Marina McGee, and Luci Lavis. Traffic throughout the afternoon was steady, with both LYC members and non-members browsing the artist’s displays and making purchases. In the end, the event raised over $500 for the Cancer Society. Marina and Luci feel there is a lot of growth potential for this event into the future.
TONIGHT – FERGBURGS!! The grill opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes promptly at 7:00 p.m. (unless the supply of burgers runs out prior to that). A $10 dollar donation to the Sailing School gets you the best burger in town with a choice of sides. After this, only 2 Fergburg dates remain this season (September 6 & 20).
Saturday August 27 – ITALIAN DINNER! Hosted by Brad and Cory Beagle & crew. The menu will include Chicken Alfredo, Lasagna, Italian tossed Antipasta Salad, and for dessert, Tiramisu. Cost will be $15 per person cash or punch combination. Please call or text Sandy at (231) 690-6224 to make a reservation today, don’t wait! If you are making reservations for other members as well as yourself, please let her know.Reservations will close at the end of the day on Wednesday August 24.
Friday August 26 – Cocktails at the Club return beginning around 5:30 p.m. Bring an appetizer to share if you wish and join this informal gathering of members.
