Please join us on Sunday August 21st from 1pm to 5pm for the LYC Art Show & Fundraiser. Luci Lavis and Marina McGee came up with this idea a while back and the initial response has been inspiring!  Cancer has touched nearly every member of our club, so we decided to combine our love for art and the opportunity to help combat this insipid disease.  Artist entry fees and 15% of all sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Refreshments will be available with donations going to the ACS as well..

So far there is a tentative list of 6-8 artists slated to show their work, including fabric arts, watercolor, drawing, acrylics, jewelry, glass artwork, dioramas, photography, and wood art.  We have room for a few more now that the addition is available.  Contact Marina McGee (231-266-2018) or Luci Lavis (231-843-1561 to reserve a display area. Artist’s entry fee ($20) will cover 1 round table and floor space for display. Artists can begin setting up at 10am.Have a great week everyone!

Thank you – to Bill & Paulette DeHommel for providing LYC Burgee bumper stickers in support of LYSS.  The stickers are on the bar and the suggested donation of $3 goes to the sailing school.

The Big Dig – work on the north seawall awaits the arrival of repair materials.  Removal of fill behind the wall immediately relieved much pressure and actually allowed the wall to move back south several inches.  While we wait, enjoy the view of exposed sheet steel!

Finally! – our March 15 request to the Michigan Liquor Control Commission to add space and a SDM carryout license went before the Commission last Thursday and was approved.  We now await the arrival of our new license.
