Like the passing of the 15 cent hamburger at McDonalds, inflationary pressure has caught up with us at LYC. The social committee announces that effective immediately, all social event dinners will be $15 – $20 per person depending on the event.
A continued reminder for the Saturday August 14 Gala to be held in the ballroom at the Stearns Motor Inn for all LYC members and guests. This will be a catered dinner, a DJ, and dancing. A cash bar will be available throughout the night. Tickets are $35.00 per person with checks made payable to LYC. To purchase tickets please contact Jim McGee (810-441-5833) or Scott Hultman (616-644-5073). Tickets are also available at the bar. We have upped the date to purchase tickets to July 23 after which we plan to invite members of the Boat Club to the event.
Events this coming week:Tuesday July 20 – Fergburgs, serving from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., a fundraiser in support of the sailing school.
Thursday July 22 – Sailboat racing
Friday July 23 – Cocktails at the Club beginning about 5:30 p.m.
Saturday July 24 – Polish Dinner. Greg & Jean Katt and crew are hosting this event. The menu consists of:
- Lazy Man’s Golabki – basically layered (lasagna style) cabbage rolls;
- Kielbasa & Kapusta – pork & beef polish sausage & sauerkraut;
- Ogurki – cucumber salad;
- Lemon poppyseed cake.
