This Week at LYC

12 Jul

In the spirit of National Simplicity Day, I offer the following:

Let’s continue to help our bartender, Becky, get to know everyone.  Please wear your nametag and/or present your LYC membership card to her when ordering drinks at the bar.  Not only will it help her but will help us all get to know the members, new and established, of our club.  Thanks to everyone who has worn tags already!A plug for the Saturday August 14 Gala to be held in the ballroom at the Stearns Motor Inn for all LYC members and guests. There will be a catered dinner, a DJ, and dancing.  A cash bar will be available throughout the night.  Tickets are $35.00 per person with checks made payable to LYC.  To purchase tickets please contact Jim McGee (810-441-5833) or Scott Hultman (616-644-5073).  Tickets are also available at the bar.  We have upped the date to purchase tickets to July 23 after which we plan to invite members of the Boat Club to the event.
On the schedule this week:
Tuesday July 13 – Bob Kesling & crew will once again be serving up fried haddock, smelt, and clams along with french fries. Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue through 7:00 p.m.  Cost will be $12 for a choice of haddock, smelt, clams, or a combination along with fries.  This is a fundraiser for the Ludington Youth Sailing School so membership card “punches” will not be honored; but cash or a check will.   C’mon down enjoy some seafood and support LYSS.   Fergburgs are once again on the docket for next Tuesday, July 20.

Friday July 16 – Cocktails at the Club beginning about 5:00 p.m.  Chieftain Cup sailors will be arriving from Pentwater after the first leg of the 2-day race and having a pizza party.  Please refer to the information about the race which follows.  Plan to arrive early as the Mt. Gay rum will soon be in short supply!

Saturday July 17 –  The beef tenderloin dinner originally scheduled for Saturday has been postponed due to inability to obtain tenderloins at this time.   Hosts plan to try for a future date.
