Tuesday May 4: General Membership meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Friday May 7: Cocktails at the Club from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday May 11: Fergburgs will be served up by Gary Ferguson and crew from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in support of the Youth Sailing School. The process will be similar to last year. The plan is to have burgers to order as in the past but in addition, you will choose 2 of 4 different sides (potato salad, cole slaw, beans, or cream corn). The order will come in “to go” packaging that you can take to an indoor (50 person limit) or outdoor table or take home to eat. Orders will be placed, paid for, and picked up at or near the south entrance. Since this event is a fundraiser for the LYSS, cash or check is the acceptable form of donation (no membership card punches). Recommended donation is $10 per person. The suggested donation reflects the addition of sides and the packaging materials required plus the significant increase in food cost.
Friday May 14: Cocktails at the Club from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday May 21: Cocktails at the Club from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturday May 22: Mexican Dinner hosted by Mark & Patty Otto. Social to start at 6:00 p.m. with dinner served at 7:00 p.m. This will be a $10 per person event, cash or card punch. Once again, Sandy Gomez will be taking reservations for dinners. Please call or text her at (231) 690-6224 to make a reservation; only 45 reservations for indoor seating can be taken. If you wish to specify outdoor seating, with the caveat that in case of unfavorable weather, you would need to have your dinner delivered “to go”, she can accept additional reservations. Reservations close Wednesday May 19. The menu includes:
- Taco Salad,
- Chicken or Steak Wet Burrito with sour cream & salsa,
- Yellow rice and refried beans,
- Pineapple coconut upside down cake
- Bar drink special – Strawberry Margaritas

June:
5 TAM Training: Are you interested in becoming TAM (Techniques of Alcohol Management) certified? Registration is required by emailing Mark Hill at amphihill@gmail.com. Class duration is approximately 2 hours, and the cost is $15. The in-person course is scheduled for June 5, 9:00 a.m. Once TAM certified, you can “open” the bar and legally serve and purchase alcohol.

Remember, 2020 Punches are being honored for 2021 events! On your current (2020) card, merely cross out the “1” on the year expiration date and pen in “2”. If you need a new membership card, please let me know. 2021 YCA cards will be available at the club.
Also, the early season is time to remind everyone that the club is available for all to use. All that is asked is that you clean up before leaving (i.e. take out trash, CLEAN STOVE and or outdoor grill, do dishes, no leftovers in fridge, wipe tables, bar, etc.), ensure lights are off, windows closed and doors locked (including between bathroom and club), and TV off.
Summer Gala
Mark your calendars. LYC is having a “Summer Gala” for you. It will be held off site in the ballroom at the Stearns Hotel in Ludington on August 14, 2021. It will feature a catered dinner, dancing and a DJ. A cash bar will be available throughout the night. Tickets are $35.00 per person. To purchase tickets please contact Jim McGee or Scott Hultman. Members and guests are welcome.
