Adam Lamb invites LYC members to “The Celebration of Ron Lamb’s Wonderful Life”  Sunday November 1 from 12 Noon to 5 pm at the Hamlin House, 6774 Mears Rd., Ludington.   Ron was a long time LYC member who passed earlier this year.  This from Adam:

Hello friends and family! We are excited to celebrate Ron’s amazing life this fall, actually his birthday weekend! There will be a short memorial service, the Mason County Color Guard (1:00 pm) and a few words spoken to memorialize Ron’s life. Then there will be lots of yummy food, some good single malt scotch and lots and lots of stories! Most activities will be outdoors.”

Please call or text Adam (616 889-6870) to accept his invite.

·        This has been the social season that wasn’t!!  Social events, except one Mexican dinner early on and the very successful LYSS Tuesday benefits, have been nonexistent.  So, looking ahead to 2021, the Executive Committee has decided to suspend collection of the social activity fee ($50) for next year.  Hang onto your 2020 cards as the punches will be honored when events resume! Dues will remain at $150.  I will send out that notice sometime in February.  Please keep me posted on local and winter address, email, or phone changes as they occur.

·        Boats docked in the basin on the east side of the club must be removed by October 16 as the Boat Club plans to move their docks into the area on Saturday October 17.  Those wishing to do so may move their boat to any open slip on the west side of the club.  Contact Gary (231 690-3710) for more info.

·        Dock holders – I have sent an email for the 2021 dock deposits due October 31.

·        The Annual Membership Meeting is scheduled for October 13 at 7:30 pm.  Unfortunately, due to continuing Executive Order restrictions we are again attendance limited, maximum now of 10 persons not of the same household.  Therefore, only Flag Officers and Committee chairs will attend.  All Flag Officers have indicated their willingness to serve through 2021 so the election of flag officers normally conducted at the annual meeting will not occur.  I plan to prepare and send along a synopsis of 2020 meeting minutes and budget status by close of the calendar year for all member’s benefit.

·        The clubhouse will most likely be closed and winterized in late October or when the beer is gone whichever comes first.
