Tuesday September 5 – Fergburgs!! $5 each. Proceeds to LYSS. Bring a dish to share if you desire. Serving from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Last Fergburg of the season.
Membership Meeting – Tuesday September 5 at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday September 6 – BUNCO 6:00 p.m.
September 8-10 – Bloomer Cup Weekend: The Bloomer Cup is now just 10 days away from now! Here are the key events:
• Friday, Sept 8, join us for cocktails at the club as usual and after dusk for a movie on the lawn. We will be showing Captain Ron on a sail out on the lawn. Please bring an hors d’oeuvre and your sense of humor, we will order pizza to assist visiting boaters to make certain that no one goes hungry.
• Saturday, Sept 9, skippers meeting at 11:00 AM with the first start to be at 1:30. There will be separate starts for the spinnaker and non-spinnaker divisions. We will have trophies for the lucky winners so that you may be the envy of all your friends.
• Dinner at 6 PM. Dinner will be a grill your own steak dinner. We’re furnishing New York Strip Steaks that you may grill to your own perfection. We will have experienced chefs available to cook your steak if you choose not to do it yourself. We will also have potatoes, coleslaw, rolls and dessert for the very reasonable price of $15 per person.
• We will have a live band under the big top out on the lawn from 6:30 to 10:30 PM. If you want to come for the music but not the dinner, the cover charge will be $5.
How can you help?
• We need volunteers with power boats to serve as committee boat. We will also need 4 or 5 volunteers to help run the race. Don’t worry, the instructions are relatively simple an anyone can do this. We may want to put a Ludington Daily News photographer on your boat.
• We will need a power boat to set the marks on Saturday morning. We have approximate GPS settings for the marks and will supply race committee volunteers with gps to give direction. This will not take more than 1 -2 hours at most.
• We will need a 3 or 4 volunteers to clean up on Sunday morning after the event.
