Upcoming Events at LYC – September 24th 2023 + Looking Ahead

Saturday’s Corned Beef Brisket dinner was a big success. Thanks to Steve Miller for hosting along with his crew of John & Sharon Berend, Gary Ferguson, Denny & Luci Lavis, Chris Patulski, Jon Erickson, and Jim & Joan Wright for their efforts to prepare, serve, and clean up afterwards. Also thanks to Becky Erickson for her normal efficient work at the bar and for preparation of the “dessert” following dinner.

Tuesday, September 26 – was FERGBURGS

in support of the Sailing School. The final 2023 Fergburgs dinner night was a record breaking success, with over 100 burgers served.

Saturday October 7 – SWISS STEAK DINNER

hosted by Luci & Denny Lavis and Mom Lavis. Menu to include Swiss Steak (of course), mashed potato with gravy, vegetable, salad, rolls, and dessert, all for $15 per person. Social starts at 6:00 p.m. with dinner served at 7:00 p.m. Please call or text Sandy Gomez to make a reservation. If you are making a reservation for other members as well as yourself, please let her know. Reservations will close Wednesday October 4.

Saturday October 21 – U of M vs MSU game…details & coaches TBA.

With the 2023 season coming to a close and the 2024 season right around the corner, the 2024 suite of Flag Officers will be looking for enthusiastic and energetic members to serve on various committees. Our members make the LYC what it is and the 2024 Officers will be looking for your input and unique talents to help on various committees. Consider offering your talent and time. For more information on the committees (House, Grounds, Docks, Social, Racing, and Membership) and their roles, feel free to contact me.

Upcoming Events at LYC – September 17th 2023 + Looking Ahead

Reservations are now being taken for the Corned Beef Brisket dinner

scheduled for this Saturday, September 23 sponsored by Steve Miller. Menu to include corned beef, boiled potato, carrot, and cabbage plus a surprise dessert. $15 per person cash. Social at 6:00 p.m., Dinner at 7:00 p.m. Please call or text Sandy to make a reservation. If you are making reservations for other members as well as yourself, please let her know. Reservations will close Thursday September 21.

This Tuesday, September 19 is FERGBURGS

in support of the Sailing School. $10 per person donation gets you the best burger in town and choice of sides (potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, or Texas style creamed corn) along with Charro Beans for those who want to add some spice to their life. First burgers come off the grill at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 7:00 p.m. Word on the street says that this is the next to last Fergburgs of the season, the last being Tuesday September 26.

Friday September 22 is Cocktails at the Club

starting about 5:30 p.m. Bring an appetizer to share if you wish and join this very informal gathering of members.
