Coming Events at LYC

Saturday July 26th is the Raft Off and “Journey Tribute” concert.  Meet at the Club around 4:30-5:00 if you need a ride or just mosey over to Parlor “B”.  Bring an appetizer to share if you would like.  Around 7 we will go to Harbor View and tie up along the wall for the concert.

 

August 9th is Fiesta Ole!  Hosted by the Ottos and the Gillettes.  Cocktails @ 6 – dinner @ 7.  Please reserve you seat by calling Patty Otto at 231-  845-7665 or via e-mail at pemkotto@hotmail.com

 

August 16th is the Fish Fry hosted by Pete Christensen and his crew.  This year it will be a $10 dinner the side dishes and dessert included.  Cocktails at 6 – dinner at 7.  Please make reservations by e-mailing     contact@ludingtonyc.org

 

Sunday August 17th. LYC will be hosting a benefit for LYSS.  An Ice Cream Social is planned from 2-5 on the Club lawn.  The cost is $2 with an additional donation optional.  The event will be open to the public and advertised on radio and in the paper.  The LYSS graduates will be showing off their newly acquired skills.

 

August 23rd is the Annual Bloomer Cup race and Pig Roast. More details will follow from the Race Committee on that. 

 

August 30th will be a burn your own potluck – cocktails @ 6 – coals ready @ 7.

This week at LYC

Fergburgs are being served tonight, Tuesday July 15, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.  Cost is $5 per burger and proceeds go to the Sailing School.  Bring something to share that goes with burgers if you wish..

Cocktails at the Club on Friday as usual beginning around 5:00 p.m. until ?.  Bring an appetizer and see who shows up.

Gail Kretchman is accepting reservations for Saturday’s (7/19) Caribbean Dinner.  Please call her at 616-490-1255 by the Wednesday 7/16deadline.  Social hour begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner served at 7:00 p.m.

With summer comes increased use of bathrooms/showers at the club.  Access to the bathroom/showers for guests is through the southeast door.  The combination for that door is posted on the bulletin board.  Please ensure that the passage door between the bathroom/showers and the club is closed and locked from the club side when you leave the clubhouse. 

 

Charlie Pollard’s son lost a Go Pro camera on July 10.  If anyone should locate such an item, please leave it on the bar in the club or call Charlie at 231-845-7660.

Don Cochran fell off his roof last week and is recovering at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  He is in room 2276 at 100 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.  Get well cards would be welcomed.
