This week at LYC

Tuesday (9/1) is the September general membership meeting at 7:30 p.m.  There will be a potluck dinner preceding the meeting at 6:30 p.m.  The social committee is providing baked/BBQ chicken as a main entry, sides are welcomed.

There will be a Board of Directors meeting following the general membership meeting.

Friday night (9/4) is the usual Cocktail at the Club event.  Create an appetizer and stop by.

Sunday September 6 is the annual Bloomer Cup sailboat race.  Registration and Captains meeting at 11:00 a.m. and the race starts at 1:30 p.m.

A pig will be roasted in honor of the Bloomer Cup and will be served following the race.  Anticipated dinner hour will be late afternoon, early evening depending on race finish time.  Reservations are NOT required and this is an open event, so bring along friends.  C’mon down early, watch the boats return, enjoy some adult beverages, and enjoy an excellent $10 per person dinner.

Looking ahead, Tuesday September 8 will be the last FergBurg Tuesday of the season.  Burgers, as always, are $5 each with proceeds to the LYSS.  Sides are welcome but not necessary.  Serving from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

LYC events for August 25 to the 30th

This week starts off with Ferg Bergs on Tuesday, August 25. Burgers are served 5:30 -7:00. You may bring a complimentary dish to share, dessert will be provided this week.

Friday join the gang for Cocktails @ the Club starting 5ish. Bring an appetizer to share if you would like. You can’t beat relaxing and watching the sunset from our beautiful Club.

Saturday your Social Committee and team will be presenting BBQ Chicken for your dining enjoyment. Cocktails are at 6:00 followed by dinner at 7:00. This is a $10 dinner and REQUIRES RESERVATIONS PRIOR TO 5:00P.M. WEDNESDAY. You may reply to: contact@ludingtonyc.org or call me at 616-490-1255.

I have had several inquiries about the social calendar for the rest of the season. I’ll give you a brief rundown of the next few weeks; 8/29 BBQ Chicken Dinner, 9/1 Membership meeting & potluck, 9/5 Bloomer Cup Feeder Race Pentwater to Ludington, followed by a dinner to be determined, 9/6 Bloomer Cup Race and Pig Roast, 9/8 Ferg Bergs, 9/12 Wine & Beer Tasting paired with substantial appetizers, 9/15 Taco Tuesday (benefiting LYSS) and 9/19 Shrimp dinner (only on Saturday this year). Cocktails @ the Club every Friday as always. More events follow and we are always looking for host and helpers for any event.
