Monday, is Orange Shirt Day and National Love People Day. I guess that means you can legitimately hug a stranger in an orange shirt. And if that is not enough, Monday is also National Chewing Gum day…does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight?
Great Chili Fest dinner Saturday night. The variety of chilis were just outstanding; traditional red, veggie, and white. The red went well over the hot dogs which were grilled to perfection. Klondike Bars for dessert were a real treat! Hats off to the hosts Rick & Noreen Mayfield and their crew of Hank Lawrie, Bill & Jeanie Weber, Ted & Ann Cashion, Steve & Cathy Hunt, Beverly Berger, and Mike & Charleen Lester. I do think they have earned a spot on next season’s event calendar!

Something new planned for Ludington: I received an unsolicited phone call and email this week from a representative of “ClearSpace Ludington”, a storage condominium project slated for construction in the Ludington Industrial Park. The units are designed for anyone who would like to own their own storage condo for their boat, RV, autos, or other personal belongings. I told the rep, Mike Zambetis (616-402-0141), that I would disseminate the information to our membership. Flyers are attached.
Oh, and the answer to Wednesday’s trivia question, “Who sang lead vocals on 5 one hit wonder songs in the 1970s?” English musician, Tony Burrows sang the lead vocals on five one hit wonders: Edison Lighthouse’s “Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)” (February 1970); White Plains’ “My Baby Loves Lovin'” (March 1970); the Pipkins’ “Gimme Dat Ding” (April 1970); the First Class’ “Beach Baby” (July 1974); and “United We Stand” (1970) by the first incarnation of the Brotherhood of Man.
Have a great week everyone!
