Upcoming Events at LYC – July 7th 2024 + Looking Ahead

8 Jul

Trust you all had a glorious 4th of July!

This coming week at LYC:
RIB DINNER – Saturday July 13: Reservations are now being taken for the Rib Dinner hosted by Adam & Christine Lamb and crew.  On the menu are Adam’s famous pork baby back ribs and his nearly as famous butter herbed potatoes and hand made coleslaw.  There will also be dessert. This will be a $15 per person dinner.  Social gathering starts at 6:00 p.m. with dinner served at 7:00 p.m.

Please call or text Sandy to make a reservation.  If you are making reservations for other members as well as yourself, please let her know this.  Reservations will close, Thursday July 11.

Tuesday July 9 – FERGBURGS to support the Sailing School.  Grill is open from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. unless we run out of burgers first.  Same drill as always, $12 per person gets you the most famous burger around and a choice of sides.

Competitive sailing resumes on Thursday July 11.  Boats leave the docks around 4:30 p.m. for a 5:30 p.m. start.  The formal race announcement will be posted mid-week.  There will no longer be food available as the demand just wasn’t there for the effort and cost put forth. Thanks to everyone though who gave it a try, either by preparing or consuming.

Friday July 12 – Cocktails at the Club starting about 5:30 and carrying on until ?.  Bring an appetizer to share if you wish but certainly not required.  This is just an informal gathering for members to interact and get to know one another.

LUDINGTON YOUTH RESOURCE CENTER FUNDRAISER

Once again this summer, LYC is hosting a fundraiser to support the Ludington Youth Resource Center.  Please consider giving generously to this worthy cause and attend a kick-off cocktail party on Friday August 16th beginning at 5:30 p.m. to learn more about this great benefit to the youth of our community.

The Center supports the needs of area youth who sometimes fall through the cracks.  The Center is run fully by volunteers and provides everything from food, clothing, hygiene and household items to car and home repairs.

The Center is under the direction of Mark Boon.  Mark will be on hand to share some of his goals for the coming year.  He will be introducing his supporting staff as he prepares to retire in the not-too-distant future.

The Committee thanks you in advance for your generous donations to this most worthy cause that the LYC membership has supported for many years.
